Must be able to successfully represent the station as on-air talent during our membership drives and serve as a pledge producer. Responsible for creating sponsorship materials/packages and servicing our sponsors and underwriters to make sure their messages and logos are professionally communicated to our audience. Creation and distribution of marketing messages (including layout) to our audience regarding our membership drives, special events and festivals including Jazz Fest.
Must be able to work well in a high energy, creative, casual (but professional) environment with a constant stream of OZ show hosts, talented musicians, culture bearers, volunteers, members, listeners, board, and staff.
Responsibilities:
WWOZ 90.7 FM seeks a seasoned, dynamic, hands-on Events and Sponsorship Manager to lead related efforts for one of the world’s most vibrant public community radio/multi-media organizations. Responsible for planning, management, sponsorship sales and relations, marketing, and ensuring financial success in several areas including our major events-WWOZ’S PIANO NIGHT, WWOZ’S GROOVE GALA, as well as other station events.Requirements:
- Proven track record as a successful event producer, marketer, fundraiser, and public speaker with established relationships in New Orleans market highly preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage events and budgets, superior written and verbal skills, as well as proven marketing, sponsorship, and ticket management experience. Confident with basic graphic design for print and digital marketing. Proficiency with Google Drive Suite and familiarity with CRMs; ideally Blackbaud’s RaisersEdge and Luminate Online. Previous radio experience a plus. - Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years proven experience and increasing responsibility. Reports directly to the General Manager and is a key member of the station’s seasoned Development team.Contact:
