Position Overview

Support KSL NewsRadio, (as well as FM 100, Arrow 103.5 and 97.5 The Zone, as needed) with traffic reporting. You may occasionally be asked to work on very short notice, sometimes in the early morning. You will be asked to work some holidays. The need for fill-in work varies throughout the year but more frequent fill-in coverage is needed from April-August and in December.  **This position is eligible for holiday pay when work occurs on a company holiday.**

Note:  Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.

This position is primarily an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site.
This position can move to a hybrid role that allows the employee to sometimes work at home, once trained and as needed. Specific hybrid schedules will be determined based on business needs and evaluated by managers and senior management.
What You Will Do:

Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:

1. Consistently works hours required.  THIS IS AN ON-CALL/FILL-IN POSITION.  You will occasionally be asked to work on very short notice, at times.  You will be asked to work some holidays. Need for fill-in work is variable throughout the year with more frequent fill-in coverage needed from April-August and in December.  **This position is eligible for holiday pay when work occurs on a company holiday.**

2. Anchors traffic reports and others as scheduled by KSL NewsRadio (can be any time between 5a-7p).

3. Reports on traffic through use of UDOT Traffic websites, camera setup, cellular traffic reporting network and monitoring of police scanners.

4. Correctly deliver and accurately log traffic sponsorships, when assigned.

5. Effectively and appropriately use social media to present traffic information via all available media channels.

6. Has a thorough working knowledge and understanding of KSL policy and FCC rules and regulations.

7. Attends staff meetings and meets regularly with supervisor for airchecks.

8. Maintains assigned equipment.

9. Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures.

10. Work effectively in a team environment.

11. Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.

12. Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.

13. Personal growth and development.

14. Able to manage stress effectively.

15. Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:

Ability to work with moderate supervision, confidential information and be a self-starter.
Capable and willing to resolve unexpected problems and be flexible to perform unscheduled assignments.
A high level of proficiency with computers, software and new technologies.
Ability to handle high stress environment and meet deadlines.
Highly familiar with the benefits and shortcomings of all types of media including, but not limited to “heritage” media as well as all types of current and emerging social and digital media.
Possess excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
Physical Demands

Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills to operate computer keys and general office equipment. Ability to work on a computer for prolonged periods of time.
Sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
Compensation

$15.00-20.00. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
