Position Overview
KSL TV is looking for a Senior Newscast Director.  The qualified director is a highly motivated leader eager to take on new challenges and add their expertise to productions.  They will serve as the production expert for the shift they are assigned and interface with members of all departments in the development and implementation of best practices toward the production of high-quality content.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site.
What You Will Do:
Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
Must be able to work a flexible schedule in support of a 24-7 television and social media operation.
Direct live newscasts, recorded productions, live streams, and cut-ins.
High level knowledge of Ross Overdrive Automation software
Excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on teamwork.
Proactive self-motivated learning and problem solving
Other assigned duties may include: technical directing, audio operation, and other production crew duties.

Skills, Experience & Traits We Are Looking For:
Minimum 5 years experience directing newscast with Ross Overdrive (or other automation).
Ability to identify high quality production elements, both creatively and technically.
Must be a team player with a knowledge of broadcast technologies including; switchers, routing systems,  audio console, teleprompter.
Ability to work well under pressure and make quick decisions
Personal integrity, accountability, problem solving, strong work ethic
High school diploma or equivalent.
7-10 years of experience in live news broadcast
Must possess ability to lead, thrive under pressure, and succeed in the fast-paced environment of live local news.
Good or correctable to good vision, able to display creative abilities in studio camera composition as well as in other assigned production activities
Work hours required and able to work more hours when needed to meet deadlines

Physical Demands
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs. or heavy studio production equipment as needed
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination

Compensation
$24.00 – 28.00 an hour. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
