KTVL is looking for a Newscast Director!
Direct newscasts using “Ross” automated production system
Operate robotic cameras, manage playback of ticker elements, and operate peripheral equipment during a newscast
Maintain a strong level of daily communication and collaboration with producers, talent, and the production team
Strive to maintain a high degree of production value with strong attention to production aesthetics, accuracy, and show pacing
Participate in any pre-show planning for special show segments, provide guidance and work with crew on sets, lighting, and shot blocking
Cross train and rotate through other director/editor positions 
Help train, mentor, and supervise director crew
Work with team to maintain studio and control room working environment and systems
Perform other duties as assigned


A positive team player who possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience directing newscasts using "Ross" or other automated production system is preferred
The ability to clearly give direction to crew, while working under pressure
Knowledge of production standards and equipment
Experience working with Chyron Prime/Ross Expression is preferred 
Experience with AVID editing preferred 
The ability to read and write-strong typing and spelling skills are necessary
A college degree is preferred
Must be able to lift and position 40 pound lighting instruments
Must have valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Strong Leadership skills
Smooth/pleasant delivery
Sharp video shooting and editing skills
Exemplary communication skills
