This position is responsible for preparing and delivering accurate weather reports for our newscasts, website, and social media platforms. Successful candidate will embrace social media tools for expanded weather coverage and storytelling opportunities. The right candidate is a weather storyteller. Candidate must embrace the significance of having a strong weather presence on air and possess a multi-platform approach to severe weather coverage. Candidate must also have knowledge of being a Multi-skilled Journalist and report as needed.


Research, prepare and deliver daily weather content utilizing all available weather data, graphics computers and radars.
Present on-air with clear, concise, and interesting weather segments
Prepare and deliver severe weather updates, interrupting regular programming as necessary.
Prepare and update all weather content across all platforms (on-air and digital)
Write & post stories on social media platforms
Knowledge of shooting, writing and editing stories
Perform other tasks as required by supervisor


Four-year college degree
Knowledge of WSI preferred.
Be proficient at posting content to various websites and social media; computer literacy required, including weather and newsroom computer systems.
AMS and/or NWA Seal of approval preferred but not required.
Exceptional online and social media skills.
Ability to work under pressure while meeting daily assigned environments
Applicable knowledge of multi-platform news-gathering tools and resources including digital media
Valid driver’s license and good driving record
Fill in on other shifts when necessary.
