WDAY, the #1 News station in Fargo, North Dakota is looking for a Sports Producer to work in our multi-platform Sports Department.

WDAY is an Emmy award-winning, locally owned and operated station that covers eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota.  We produce more than 30 hours of local news each week. We have a staff of over 35 journalists working in news, weather, and sports.  Our newsroom includes spacious work areas for each employee, a makeup room, meeting spaces and a relaxation area complete with couches, televisions and a fireplace.

WDAY has helped launch the careers of many news professionals around the country. 

We have alumni in many of the countrys top markets including Minneapolis, Denver, Phoenix, Detroit, Chicago, Tampa Bay, Albuquerque, and Las Vegas.    

Fargo is the largest city in North Dakota and borders Moorhead, Minnesota.  The metro population is over 240,000, including the cities of Fargo and West Fargo in North Dakota and Moorhead and Dilworth in Minnesota.  Fargo has a vibrant downtown with many activities and events geared towards young professionals. The community hosts many major concerts, sporting, and community events throughout the year. There are a variety of styles of apartments to choose from, including several new apartment buildings in several new neighborhoods. The communities have plenty of options for shopping; from local specialty shops to major retailers.

Responsibilities:

As a producer, you will be responsible for producing our award-winning sportscast including writing scripts, editing copy, ordering graphics to fit stories, and coordinating live shots with directors.  You will also help produce our coverage of the North Dakota State High School Tournaments, plus our Game of the Week broadcasts.  There could be limited on-air opportunities.   

Requirements:

A college degree in journalism or a related field is required.  The successful candidate will have exceptional writing, communication, and organizational skills.  Join a great team, at a #1 rated station committed to news.
