POSITION OBJECTIVE:  Employee writes and anchors commanding, engaging news updates.  Show preparation and additional newscast responsibilities include a total shift from approximately 11:00 am 7:00 PM.  This is a generic posting.  Management assigns responsibilities on a regular and/or rotating basis depending upon company needs.





College level education in journalism or related field or equivalent experience required
Two (2) years commercial broadcast journalism experience or equivalent
Anchors newscasts as scheduled
Works with newsroom team to pull audio, make calls, write, produce and perform newscasts every 30 minutes
Debriefs live details of breaking news with show hosts as needed
Additional responsibilities include writing, interviewing, mid-day newscasts and general newsroom support in the morning, afternoon, or evening as available
Role may include supplemental on-air presence and entertaining dialogue with afternoon drive host
Role may include fill-in hosting during afternoon drive
Has a thorough working knowledge and understanding of KSL policy and FCC rules and regulations
Attend staff meetings and meet regularly with Program Director for airchecks
Maintain assigned equipment
Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures
Work effectively in a team environment
Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management and clients
Consistently work hours required. Works more when required to meet deadlines including busy news days, breaking news, weekends, holidays, evenings and overtime, etc.

Able to manage stress effectively
Other duties as assigned



Receive, process and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination
Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion
