News4Utah seeks a creative, enterprising Newscast Producer to join its competitive morning news program., Good Morning Utah, The News Producer produces part of our 2.5 hour morning newscast, focusing on breaking news, weather, traffic, and helping our audience get a head start on the day.  Producers also book interesting and informative guests to talk about current events, entertainment and lifestyle news.

KTVX/KUCW, the ABC and CW Affiliates in Salt Lake City, Utah seek an experienced late newscast Producer that brings enterprise coverage ideas to the production each day.  We are looking for a creative Producer with a vision, strong news judgment and an ability to showcase news through the use of graphics and animations.  The individual produces daily newscast items, decides the order in which stories will be told, writes teases and other content, times news programs, and edits and posts videos to the website


·         Produces newscasts for broadcast across all platforms.

·         Writes and orders news stories.

·         Approves scripts.

·         Balances news and feature content to create compelling broadcasts.

·         Edits video and posts video to the website.

·         Writes stories for the website and other digital platforms.

·         Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites.

·         Maintains accuracy and integrity in news products delivered.

·         Ensures station compliance with rules and regulations applicable to FCC, local, state, and federal laws.

·         Performs other duties as assigned.


·         Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

·         Minimum two years’ experience in news operations. 

·         Minimum two years’ experience in television newscast producing preferred.

·         Ability to multi-task, deal with extreme deadline pressure, and react/coordinate coverage under live breaking news situations ins crucial.

·         Flexibility to work any shift.

·         Fluency in English. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.


Physical Demands & Work Environment: 

·         The News Producer must be able to sit, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals or groups, make decisions without supervision, make decisions that impact the results of co-workers, work near others, work outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions, and work indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

·         In addition, the News Producer must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and can handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls. Repetitive movements are required. Work may be conducted in extremely bright or inadequate lighting conditions.
