Are you a dynamic leader with a passion for sports and a knack for creativity? WGNO Sports is looking for a Sports Producer to become a key player in in their dedicated team. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for journalist eager to make strides in the sports broadcast industry.
**Important Note: This is not an on-air position!**

Responsibilities:
- Team Collaboration: Work with a talented team to produce engaging content for our one-hour Friday Night Football franchise, Friday Night Sports show, weekly Sports zone show, and daily sportscasts,
- Coverage: Drive into the world of Saints, Pelicans, Zurich Classic, Tulane Green Wave, LSU Tigers and the SEC!
- Content Creation: Research, write, shoot and edit stories for multiple platforms in clear, engaging, and meaningful manner for sports enthusiasts/
- Ensures that all sport content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality,
- Responds to breaking sports events and other urgent newsroom situations as required,
- Work closely with the sports teams to develop and produce comprehensive sport coverage and special sports programming,
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned,
- Writes stories for the website and other digital platforms,
- Interacts with viewers and users on social media sites,
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and work-related experience,
- Comprehensive knowledge of sports and sports related activities,
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written,
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritizes assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously,
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift.
