Position Overview
KSL TV is looking for a capable professional to direct live and recorded content with Ross OverDrive.  They must also be proficient in the operation of studio equipment including handheld cameras, robotic cameras, camera control units, teleprompters, other related television equipment and act as floor director in a manner that provides KSL News and its views a highly produced product from a technical and aesthetic perspective.

Note: Work configurations are subject to change based on business needs and at company discretion.
This position is an onsite role that requires the employee to regularly work at our Salt Lake City site.

What You Will Do:
Primary job duties will include, but are not limited to:
The Newscast Director coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and other live and recorded productions.
Responsible for calling and executing quality, mistake free newscasts, leading the production team during a show.
Coordinates the efforts of all production members during newscasts and other live and recorded productions
Supervises and assigns duties to workers engaged in the control room during the production of programs
Observes pictures through monitors and directs camera/video staff concerning composition
Able to work well with the news producer to craft quality showcasing moments.
Works with the news producers to deliver a clean and high energy newscast
Acts as a liaison between the production and all other departments
Switches video sources and given direction at the same time during live broadcasts
Tests equipment to ensure proper operation
Performs other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience We Are Looking For:
High school diploma or equivalent.
3-5 years of experience in live news broadcast
Must possess ability to lead, thrive under pressure, and succeed in the fast-paced environment of live local news.
Good or correctable to good vision, able to display creative abilities in studio camera composition as well as in other assigned production activities
Work hours required and able to work more hours when needed to meet deadlines
Physical Demands
Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively
Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
Lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs. or heavy studio production equipment as needed
Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination

Compensation
$20.00 – 24.00 an hour. Hourly rate to be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to evaluation of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant along with internal equity and alignment with market data.
