KUSI 9 News is looking for a qualified General Sales Manager to train, develop and motivate our sales team.

Responsibilities:

Will provide sales management leadership to ensure the department achieves sales objectives and budgets.  Recruit, train, develop, and motivate a team of sales representatives into a cohesive unit to increase productivity and sales-related revenue streams including spot television, print, digital, production, and other non-traditional streams. Control and price TV/digital inventory to ensure maximum profitability. Ensure the sales department has a clear understanding of the marketplace including demographic profiles, competitive media, strategies, pricing, and territorial growth potential. Provide guidance to Local Sales Manager and National Sales Manager.  Manage political business. Make effective sales presentations. Create and review quarterly and annual sales goals for Account Executives. Demonstrate and ensure compliance with all sales training programs. Collaborate with all station personnel on ratings estimates and projections, serve as primary point of contact with ratings agencies and contract research analyst.

Development of budgets. Perform other duties as requested by Station Management.

Requirements:

Ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner. Successful previous experience as a sales representative or sales manager, consistently meeting or exceeding targets. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization. Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. Strong business sense and industry expertise. Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills. Must have the ability to close sales and to adjust focus. Should have working knowledge of these or similar tools: NSI, Scarborough, Matrix, comScore, MediaMonitors, ShareBuilders, AdMall/SalesFuel, and Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record within Company required standards and auto insurance. Travel as required.  Must be able to work over 40 hours a week.
