KUSI 9 News in San Diego is looking for a qualified planner to work directly with the morning and evening Executive Producers to plan insertion of long term content into programs.


Works directly with the AM and PM Executive Producers to plan insertion of long term content into programs. Acts as strategist in developing significant themes for consistent and in depth coverage .Responsible for planning of all major city and county events and interfacing with city agencies to co ordinate exclusive coverage for the news department.


Must be detail oriented, familiar with current events, exhibit exceptional planning skills. Must have the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and juggle several projects at one time.  Excellent communication skills, both oral and written and excellent interpersonal and management skills a must.   Must be able to work in and create a team environment.  Ability to work in a fast paced and stressful environment, ability to meet deadlines, and able to problem solve is essential.  Candidate should have the ability to create systems and procedures and ensure the assignment desk run efficiently
